There are three types of bequest you can make: a specific amount, a pecuniary of your estate, or the residue. The latter two options allow you to make provision for those you care about first and also avoid the erosion of your bequest’s value over time.
We can suggest the following wording, depending on which sort of bequest you wish to give:
Specific Bequest
I bequeath to Geelong Animal Rescue GAR Ltd. ACN 157 850 452 | ABN 68 157 850 452, for its general purposes, free of all duties (insert specific item to be given) or the sum of (insert specific amount to be given). I declare that the receipt of its treasurer or other authorised officer of Geelong Animal Rescue GAR Ltd. shall be sufficient discharge to my executor.
General or Pecuniary Bequest
I bequeath to Geelong Animal Rescue GAR Ltd. ACN 157 850 452 | ABN 68 157 850 452 for its general purposes, free of all duties, the whole (or insert percentage) of my estate. I declare that the receipt of its treasurer or other authorised officer of Geelong Animal Rescue GAR Ltd. shall be sufficient discharge to my executor.
Residual Bequest
I bequeath to Geelong Animal Rescue GAR Ltd. ACN 157 850 452 | ABN 68 157 850 452 for its general purposes, free of all duties, the residue of my estate. I declare that the receipt of its treasurer or other authorised officer of Geelong Animal Rescue GAR Ltd. shall be sufficient discharge to my executor.
