Meet Buck, the sweetest boy you'll ever meet.
Buck is a sensitive soul, he wears his heart on his sleeve! He was a very nervous boy when he first came into care but with loads of love and encouragement(treats) he has gained so much confidence and is now much more excited and happy about life. There are still some things that can make him uncomfortable but with lots of encouragement(treats) it doesn't take him long to get over his fears.
Being with his people is his favourite thing, he loves to cuddle on the couch and watch TV with you and he is slowly learning what play, and does thoroughly enjoy it. His foster parents both work full time and during the day Buck hangs out with his older foster brother outside, he is ok with this but does occasionally show signs of separation anxiety and will cry and whine. Even though he has his foster brother with him, Buck prefers the company of people and would much prefer his forever family to have people home more often than not but does also love to have a doggy friend to cuddle up with.
We think Buck is a Staffy cross with a Labrador, he has a boofy Staffy head with the body of a Labrador. He has that sensitive, a little bit sooky Staffy personality and the goofy, food loving Labrador personality. Buck will greet you every day with a wiggly body and a goofy smile, he will tell you all about his day and let you know he missed you. So far Buck is pretty low energy, he likes to nap a lot but he also likes to go out for walks. He walks really well on the lead and happily trots along beside you, as he is still a little nervous, he does get a bit unsure of dogs barking behind fences but with lots of encouragement(treats) he is getting more and more confident every day! His adoptive family will need to keep up his confidence training and help him learn to navigate the world with his head held high.
Buck is good with other dogs but can be nervous when first meeting them, but once he has got over those first date jitters he is very polite and awkward and tries his best to play. He does really well with smaller and older dogs, he is gentle when he needs to be and listens well when told to calm down. Buck is a bit awkward when he plays, he doesn't really know how to and is still learning how to use toys. A slightly older doggy friend to teach him the ropes would be great for him. Buck has not met a cat and does show a little interest in birds so we would recommend no cats or pocket pets in his home.
We believe Buck's forever home would ideally have people who are home more often than not, a doggy companion would be great as well! No young kids under 12 years old, no cats or pocket pets. He would do best in a home that allows him to be a part of the family and join you on the couch for evening tv watching. He is toilet trained and knows how to use a doggy door.
Bucky boy is shy but sweet and will be the best cuddle companion if you're willing to give him a chance.
Buck is desexed, microchipped and up to date with his vaccination, flea and worming treatments.
