Ruby (affectionately known as Ruby Dooby) is a sweet and gentle little girl who doesn’t rush into things. She watches, taking everything in with those soft, thoughtful eyes, quietly working out where she fits and who she can trust. And when she chooses you, it’s something truly special.

Once she feels comfortable, Ruby begins to blossom in the most beautiful way. The quiet observer gives way to a playful, curious little kitten who happily joins in the fun, chasing mouse toys, batting crinkle balls across the floor and leaping after fluttering ribbons with growing confidence. Watching her come out of her shell is an incredibly rewarding and heartwarming experience that makes you fall completely in love.

But it’s in the quiet moments where Ruby truly captures your heart. She absolutely adores being held close, safe in your arms like a baby, while you gently scratch under her chin. The second you find that perfect spot, her whole body softens, her tiny head falls back, her eyes drift closed and she lets out the sweetest, most content little purr like she’s telling you, “this is exactly where I belong.” It’s not just cute, it’s everything.

Ruby is adored by the children in her foster home, who have shown her that gentle hands mean comfort, cuddles and all the chin scratches she could ever want.

Ruby has also recently been introduced to her toy poodle foster sister. While she’s still learning to feel completely at ease, she’s making beautiful progress with reassurance. With slow, gentle introductions, she would suit a home with a calm and patient dog.

Having grown up with other cats, Ruby would do well with a kind, social feline companion who can help her continue to build confidence. That said, she would also be perfectly happy as your one and only, soaking up all the love for herself.

To keep this sweet little lady safe (and protect local wildlife), Ruby will need to be an indoor only kitty.
