HELLLLOOOOOOOOOO. MY NAME IS TUPPY AND I AM VERY FRIENDLY AND VERY LOUD!!! BUT I WILL USE MY INSIDE VOICE FOR THIS ONE OFF, SPECIAL OCCASION… DO NOT EXPECT IT TO HAPPEN AGAIN!

Don’t be fooled by my grumpy face- I love life, and I live every waking second with enthusiasm! Apparently, I am a ‘typical beagle’- I have a bark for every occasion! I love to sniff, and have the best nose in Geelong- you won’t be able to hide ANYTHING from me. I will try to escape to explore more smells, so I need a very secure yard to keep me safe! Whilst I can get along with cats, I do have a high prey drive and will chase birds, sheep etc. Therefore, my new home must only have dogs and/ or cats.

I have sooooo much energy- I can run circles around my Husky foster brother. Despite being small in size, I definitely not a sleepy lap dog!!! In addition to needing a lot of exercise, I also need a lot of mental stimulation in order to tire me out! When I’m finally tired I become a ‘snuggle puggle’- I love to curl up next to you and fall into a deep sleep. I would really like to sleep with you on or in your bed- if it’s cold, I love to wriggle under the covers. I don’t like to admit it, but I can manage the night in my crate (if I have to).

I need an owner who is home most of the time, as I am very affectionate. I love following you around, especially into the kitchen or if you have food with you. I enjoy playing fetch, but to me the best part is when you start chasing me to get the ball back. To me this is the game! I will start growling out of excitement if you would try to take it off me or if you take the other part of, for example a rope, and we start pulling on both sides. I would love another dog to play with. I love it when other dogs run away from me!!! I think it means they want to play- because I love chasing them. I also consider growling to be a playful sound dogs make- after all, I do it when I’m playing tug-a-war. My foster mum says any doggie companion needs to be very tolerant.

You can tell me I have done something wrong and I’ll know. I’ll immediately turnaround on my back ready to seduce you with my cute puppy eyes and you can’t resist to give me a belly rub I am sure. Couch time is cuddle time. I’ll always find a way close to you. My head will be on your lap or I will sit on your legs, I also like to sit behind you on the back rest. As long as I can be close to you or keep an eye on you. If I am naughty and if I have the feeling you are going to put me outside or punish me I will make myself three times heavier than I am and look at you like the Puss in Boots.

Keep anything that I could see as edible far away from me. You might not think it of me, but I am very smart, I’ll use the chairs to get on the dinner table, I’ll scratch the kitchen bench until something falls off, I will find a way to get to it. Besides the things you consider edible I do also eat plastic, rubber, metal, toys, pens, snails, gumnuts etc.- in other words… if it fits in my mouth, I will swallow it.

I love kids, especially if they’re energetic like me! However, I am ‘jumpy’ and have been known to accidentally knock over a toddler. Therefore, children must be primary school age or older.

To sum up, I need:

- A human who is home most of the time, and who allows me to be inside with them;

- An active family that can provide me with lots of exercise and mental stimulation;

- A secure yard;

- A home with no other animals aside from dogs and/ or cats;

- A family with no tiny children that I could accidentally knock over.

Things that I would like (but are not essential):

- Another dog to play with me, and to keep me company. They must be a tolerant dog of low-mid energy. We will run wild if we are both as energetic as me!

- An owner with Beagle experience- we are a very an unusual breed.
