Meet Vinnie!

Vinnie is a shy, quirky, but stunning young man who is looking for the perfect furever family.

When Vinnie first came into the GAR family, it quickly became apparent that he had never learnt to be a cat or trust humans. Since then, our late bloomer has learnt how to do the zoomies, jump up onto the couch and the bed (anything higher is a bit too scary) and use his scratching post. He absolutely loves batting his toy mice around the house all day and of course, food.

Since being in care, Vinnie has shown his foster mum that he likes to sleep with all four paws up in the air, drink from the shower base and snuffle into his foster mum’s clothes. He now enjoys pats, ear and butt scratches on his own terms but is still wary about being touched on the head.

While Vinnie has made a lot of progress, he scares easily and will run away and hide. He is likely to take a while to warm to his new humans, but once you gain his trust, he will be your loyal shadow. No more cooking, showering or going to the bathroom on your own. If you’re looking for a lap warmer though, he’s not your guy. He is happier hanging out on the floor next to you.

Vinnie’s would be best suited to a quiet home with a single person or couple. His new pawrents would need to be patient and understanding while he navigates this new world.

We believe that he may have been injured in his former life and has been diagnosed with a low- grade luxating patella in his back right leg and a “crunchy” front left leg. While it doesn’t seem to trouble him, he will intermittently start limping which requires some pain relief mediation. With this in mind, it is important that he continues his indoor only life for his own safety.

Vinnie is desexed, microchipped, up to date with vaccinations, flea and worm treatments.
